i understand that most people don't share their views in lot's of things. people argued everyday just to prove that they are the one whose right.

 [[heck, some people even killed and go to war to do that]]. 

 but it really baffles me, why [[sometimes]] people take such an extreme measure?

when i read the online newspaper today, i was shocked [[and sad at the same time]] to found news about the plan to burn Quran in Florida. is this act necessary? is the thought to do so necessary? i'm not a religious person, but i believe in God and i strongly believe there's none in His teaching that tells us to do such an act.

i am a book lover, and i considered Quran as a sacred book for the Muslims. it's has the same worth and value as the Bible is to us Christian. our faith is reflected by these books, and so does our knowledge about the world. i don't have much to say about this incident, except that i'm disappointed with those people. such books of great knowledge should never be treated that way. and those books contain nothing wrong. through those books religion teach us to do good. the result of prejudice against a religion has nothing to do with the religion itself, it's the people who tainted them. imagine how would us Christian feels if someone planned to burn our Bible. i would definitely feels sad and and most people will feel anger as no respect is shown to our holy books.

i really hope they would change their mind before it's too late. somehow, i can feel that the consequences [[if it really happened]] would bring disaster, not just at their part of the world, but all around the world. have more faith,and more love. with love and faith can only we understand more and respect more about others.

the lOst symbOl

...when the hard cover edition first came out [[bout 6 months ago]] i can only gawked at it from afar since it cost almost a hundred rgt. somehow, i have a very strong urge to grab one [[at that time i was at popular-perangin]] and make a run for it. miraculously, i managed to stop myself. ok,right now you might think 'what the hell is she talking about??' well, am actually talking about this book down here...

dan brown, the lost symbol.  and when the paperbag edition finally out, i never wasted my time to buy one [[yeah!!]] at last my collection of Brown's are complete ^^ now, let's get down to the storyline.  

the main character [[hero]] is robert langdon [[the same langdon in da vinci code]] and it tells about his adventure trying to save his mentor [[Peter Solomon]] from his kidnapper. unknowingly, he was brought to washington dc by peter's kidnapper and he refuses to agree to the kidnapper's orders.  however, he was forced to change his mind after he saw a gruesome incident happened at the capitol rotunda. and for the rest you have to read yourself [[ehe]]  * spoiler alert: the kidnapper [[malaikh]] and peter actually have histories and relation that is quite unbelievable, and somehow it will bring sadness in your heart.

what i love most about brown is the fact that he can delivered a very twisting puzzle in a very untwisted manner. although sometimes the character acts as if they are human-dictionaries, the facts [[mostly about symbols and signs]] are fascinating. btw, most af them are true.  owh, another noteworthy aspect is brown's interpretation of the bible. it's quite different from what i've know, but not entirely wrong. thanks to Brown, i realized that to know the word of God, i have to be responsible as with His words, comes great knowledge.

44 cemetery rOad

44 cemetery road is a compilation of 21 short stories by Tunku Halim.  quoting from him, the stories are tales of horror and imagination [[it really is]].

anyway, although the main theme of this book is horror, Tunku Halim managed to twist other elements in his writing as well, involving love, lust, money, friendship and even family. sometimes the ending of his tales are unpredictable, which make it a more interesting read. however, i do not recommend those who have a weak heart to read this. even i avoid reading them at night, gives me nightmare [[although these kind of stories are my cup of tea]].

ps.  spoiler alert. the title of this book [[44 cemetery road]] is actually a vampire story.

books hUnting

to kick off my holiday, i went to chowrasta market the other day with a couple of friends. we've been planning to go like forever, but the plan have been on hold for two years [[talk about overdue]]. not that the place is very far away, somehow we can't find the right time to go.  so, finally we managed.  our main spot- the secondhand bookstore. hopefully i can find some books i've been hunting for quite some time.

we arrived at perangin mall quite early, and of course go makan-makan first.  then we started our hunt. we managed to sesat two times and on the way we got to see a moving advert for air asia...quite a scene i must say. these guys are serious to sell  [[and those ads must be heavy]]

after asking around, we finally got the right place. the bookstore stood all the way to the end of the market...and when i finally saw it, my jaws just dropped.

as you can see, the books are stacks up to the ceiling [[wish i can stay here]]. books are just everywhere, all types of them.  from reader's digest to the bible, from kids story books to grown-ups, from thriller to romance... at first, i couldn't find any of the books im searching.  but then,just as we're about to walked away, my eyes suddenly saw something- Tunku Halim.  i practically dived to grab it [[been searching all over for it.  although he's a local author, his books are very hard to find]] to my delight, the store got three of them, but since i already bought a thriller novel, i can only afford two of Tunku Halim's [[if only i saw them earlier...sob3]].  i'll come by again and hopefully the 3rd book will still be there...

 before we went home [[hostel to be accurate...]], we stop by at perangin mall for a while.  it's so hot outside, and we were drenched in sweat when we finally inside the air-con building. it was a blessed...after that,HOME [[nay...]] can't wait to read them [[book marathon]]
